little things here and there.

muse concert was amazing! it was by far the greatest concert i have ever gone to, and i've seen some awesome bands in concert. the venue was nice too. i saw muse at the united center in chicago. i wasn't that close, but i could still see them with no problems, and that is all that matters. it rocked my socks off!

i've recently purchased the dr horrible sing-along blog soundtrack and dvd, which are amazing! the writing is good, there's a bunch of tonge and cheek stuff. but the best part is the music! the music was written wonderfully! for a short film (42 minutes), filmed indie style (only costed 200,000 and the actors weren't conpensated when they filmed the movie), it has wonderful music scores! so great job whedon brothers and maurissa tancharoen.

last week i got a letter back from the wisconsin review. they turned down my 2 poems i sent them. that's fine. you can't win them all. the poems really go together and i think they deserve to get published, so i'll just send them to another place. if you can't take rejection don't go into the publishing buisness. publishing of any kind, music, book, movies, etc.

i'm working on two different articles for application to jobs. well one is an internship and another is an unpaid job. you get paid in perks. both are for websites. but i would love to work for them. so i'm working on my application. when i hear back from the places i will share with you guys.

thats all from here. just a little update on what i've been doing. i'll leave you with a picture from the muse concert.

new comic wednesday... kinda

last week i was lazy and just didn't write a review for graham crackers comics. well this week i did write a review and my boss forgot to post it on the website. thanks jimmy. well i will have to reprimand him today and make sure he posts it. i wrote a review for the new pet avengers comic that came out this week. i like the pet avengers, it's the only kiddy comic that i read. my favorite charactor is frog thor. there's just something about the comic that makes me want to read it. well once i've yelled (not really, i'll just text him) at my boss i'll post the review on here.

update: here's the review i wrote for the pet avengers.

wwz

so i wrote a review for the blog bookersatz on the book wwz (world war zombie). the people there were really nice and easy to get a hold of. it took them about a week to get back to me which was totally nice. i love it when i don't have to wait around wondering if my stuff is going to get published (whether its on a blog or a mag.). so here it is. hope you like it. and you really should go and read the book. it was an amazing book!

bam!

so yesterday at work while i was listening to the phantom of the opera and just plugging along, it hit me how to fix my story i've been working on. different days has been kinda stuck and i didn't know how to fix it, but thankfully it just hit me and now i can move along in the story. : D it was so random it was great. sadly i won't have time to work on it all weekend, but come monday, i'll be typing away! i was stuck on what time period of the main charactors life to make everything happen. and as i've stated before it's not going to go in chronoligical order, it's going to jump around. well i've decided to have it jump around all her life. not just one certain age period. it hit me so randomly i loved it. plus it brightened my day up at work.

also it seems that for the superhero anthology, i'll know in february whether i got my poem in or not. so cross your fingers.

The People's Hero

so tonight i finally sent to superhero peom i was talking about in this post. i had the poem written since that post but just hadn't sent it out. so now i finally did. i named it The People's Hero. hopefully they will except it. i wrote about how a superhero just can't take the stress of saving the day, but yet knows that everyday he will still go out there and do it; for if nothing else people deserve to live. the poem will hopefully be part of a superhero anthology that is being put together. it would be really cool if it got published for my love for comics is just crazy! even if the peom doesn't get published as part of that anthology, maybe i can get graham crackers to some how publish it. whether it's on the website or just having my manager put it up at the store.

less than three

so this weekend jeremy and i celebrated our one year anniversary (which is tomorrow). and by celebrate he was sick and i was taking care of him. he has strep throat, so that sucks major balls. he was amazing though and got me some amazing stuff. he bought me the new poets & writers magazine, which looks like to be a good issue. it has a list of the 50 best mfa colleges. so that will be cool to look at and see what the magazine lists as the top ranking colleges. he also bought me the latest poetry literature magazine. i would love to one day be published in there. it's my dream to get something in there one day. and i know i will one day! so it was just awesome that he got me that for our anniversary. he got me a couple other things, but it doesn't have to do with writing. so sorry guys, i'm keeping those details to myself. either way jeremy is amazing and i love him to death! i'm very excited about reading the too things he got me and i'm excited about all the poetry. i really have an amazing boyfriend. <3

wisconsin review

well yesterday i sent two poems to the wisconsin review. hopefully they will get published. they are two poems that i think work great as a set. i wrote them in the style of america tanka. the american tanka magazine isn't accepting works right now, so i thought i would send these poems somewhere else. hopefully they will get in. but wisconsin review says it takes 4-6 months to get a response. sigh. oh well. i like them and think that they are worthy of getting published, so lets hope that the wisconsin review thinks so also.
